Hattah Kulkyne & Mt Remarkable (May 3-6)

We are away, well almost, after realising part of the way down Peninsula Link that we had forgotten the Ipods with all our music on them.  Thanks Mum for driving them to us!  Didn’t really feel like we were away until we had long since passed the city of Melbourne.

Pulled into Hattah-Kulkyne National Park late afternoon, just south of Mildura for our first night.  Had the whole place to ourselves – very peaceful and a very cold night.

Second long day in the car.  Nearly run off the road by 2 very large trucks carrying wheat silo’s, rounded a corner and there they were and they were not slowing down for anyone!  And then again later in the day by a truck carrying a huge mining tip truck.

All travelling well, boys are content to gaze out the window with their headphones on listening to music.  So many wedge-tailed eagles.  Decided against pushing onto Port Augusta and spent 2 nights at Mt Remarkable National Park in S.A.  Beautiful campground and absolutely remarkable redgums.

Coen saved this guy from the urinal

Warmed ourselves up on Tuesday morning with a 6km hike to Baroota Ruin and Cemetery, an old 1930s homestead.
